Biggest Box Office - Adjusted For Inflation (2016)

Where do the Star Trek movies rank, when adjusted for inflation?

Although the way we watch movies has changed significantly in the 30-plus years since "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" first welcomed us into movie theaters, we still like to see how the current slate of Star Trek movies are doing compared to the past films.

There is a huge factor we have to overcome, of course, and that's inflation. While $100 million might seem like a lot for "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home," for example, that is not the same value as $100 million in 2016.

So this chart, thanks to both The Numbers and Box Office Mojo, tries to give us an accurate picture on how each of the movies have done over the years. We create common ground by adjusting everything to inflation, and we'll continue to adjust it each year.
