Star Trek Online is adding more “Star Trek: Voyager” cast members to its “Delta Rising” expansion.
Set in the Delta Quadrant where the USS Voyager was stranded, the game expansion now includes appearances by actors Robert Picardo (The Doctor), Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine) and Ethan Phillips (Neelix). They will appear alongside Tim Russ (Tuvok) and Garret Wang (Harry Kim), who were previously announced.
“Delta Rising,” which is slated for an October release, offers captain specializations, new starships and technology, a level cap of 60 and new races, including the Ocampa, Talaxians and Kazon.
Star Trek Online is a free-to-play massively multiplayer online game set 30 years after the events of “Star Trek: Nemesis.” It allows players to take on roles like a Federation starship captain or a Klingon warlord seeking glory for the Empire, and players can visit iconic Star Trek locations, venture into unexplored star systems and make contact with new alien species.
The game — spearheaded by Perfect World Entertainment Inc., Cryptic Studios and TransGaming Inc. — is available on Mac and PC.
“Star Trek: Voyager” aired on UPN from 1995 to 2001 and was created by Rick Berman, Michael Piller and Jeri Taylor. It centered on the crew of a Federation starship attempting to return home after being marooned on the far side of the Milky Way.
