Roddenberry Launches 360-Degree Movie Online

‘White Room: 02B3’ will include uninterrupted full view visuals with the help of Google Street View creators

The Roddenberry name has become synonymous with innovation, something that has been proven as more and more technologies featured in “Star Trek” are turned into reality.

And Roddenberry Entertainment is continuing that legacy with the launch of its first 360-degree movie, “White Room: 02B3.”

Set for an Aug. 3 launch date, Roddenberry has teamed up with Immersive Media, the company behind Google’s popular “Street View” app, to launch Roddenberry 360. While the partnership intends to produce original content, according to a release, the two are collaborating to get “White Room” released in its full 360-degree format.

The app will be available for both iOS on Apple devices, and Android. It also will be available on Google Cardboard. The app itself costs just less than $3, and comes with a 360-degree trailer of “White Room.”

The film, written by Tory Mell and directed by Greg Aronowitz, is a story of six strangers who suddenly awaken in a white room and eventually find out they are unwilling participants in an experiment that could change the face of humanity forever. It stars Breckin Meyer, Tamlyn Tomita, David Blue, Rachel True and Doug Jones, as well as Tony Janning and Milynn Sarley.

Roddenberry Entertainment is a co-owner of 1701News with Nexus Media Group Inc.
