It’s almost impossible to recognize Jennifer Lien these days.
She’s put on some pounds, seems to wear no makeup, and has a close-cropped haircut.
But someone who is recognizing her quite a bit lately are the police in Harriman, Tenn.
Lien, who played Kes in three seasons of “Star Trek: Voyager,” is still sitting in a Tennessee jail Tuesday after reportedly exposing herself to three children following an argument with a neighbor. Lien apparently didn’t like how the neighbor was raising her kids, and started exposing both her breasts and her butt to the children, according to the report obtained by CNN affiliate WATE.
When police arrived, Lien reportedly would not allow herself to be arrested. She was found naked on her couch, and police said she threatened them if they tried to remove her. The former actress later got dressed and was taken into custody.
Lien, who turned 41 last month, has not earned a true screen credit since appearing in the 2001 comedy “Accidents Don’t Happen” with Corbin Bernsen. And this isn’t the first run-in with the law — CNN reports Lien has a string of arrests in recent months for aggravated assault and evading arrest, among other things.
This time around, Lien was charged with indecent exposure. She remains in a Roane County jail in lieu of $2,500 bond.
Harriman is a small town of just under 6,500 people, located about two hours east of Nashville.
Lien’s contract with “Voyager” wasn’t renewed in 1997, which one historian said was supposed to be the fate of Garrett Wang instead. Wang, who played Ensign Kim, was saved, however, after he appeared in People magazine, according to author Stephen Edward Poe. Lien’s departure would make room for Jeri Ryan’s popular Seven of Nine character.
